The Meadow’s Edge

An Invitation into the Meadow…

An Invitation into the Meadow…

My name is Shelley.  An average person.  A teacher at heart, but not a writer – or so I thought.  I am a second-generation Italian who has the gift of gab but definitely not the gift of grammar.   This journey began a few years ago when I experienced some significant health challenges.  As a result, writing became a healing platform for me, as well as a place I could encourage others.

Fast forward to now, I recently experienced one of those unexpected God moments as I started thinking about the meaning of my name “Shelley”…The Meadow’s Edge.  I believe our names can be a God-given stamp of who we are.  Our niche.  Our purpose.  As I reflected on the word “meadow,” I pictured myself in a pile of lush green grass surrounded by every color wildflower one can imagine.  This is me.  I can wallow in nature all day.  It is a sacred and priceless space for me.  It is in this setting where my Heavenly Father showers me with spiritual lessons that intercept with His creation, and though often simple, their meaning is deeply profound.  As a result, I sit humbled and sobered by His majesty.

But what about the edge of a meadow?  It is often the place where the meadow meets another border such as a fog laden forest or ravenous ravine.  I realized that my desire is for this blog to bring you from the chaos all around you into the meadow, so you can experience God as I have.  His love.  His grace.  The fact that He is alive and desires to have an intimate relationship with ALL of us.

This is what I have experienced at the “Meadow’s Edge.”   I hope you will find Him there too.
